Our hotel is only a few minutes away from Kaltenbach, the well-known town in the middle Zillertal. In a picturesque location on the left side of the Ziller on the scree of the Kaltenbach, this small Tyrolean community is popular with vacationers in both summer and winter.
Kaltenbach is located across from Stumm and consists of a main town and widely scattered farms on the mountainside. Located above Kaltenbach is one of the most popular ski huts in the Zillertal, where you might run into prominent guests such as the Austrian and German Federal Presidents...

Kaltenbach has excellent transportation connections and is connected via the Zillertalstraße B 169 and a train station of the Zillertalbahn. In addition, Kaltenbach is near an entrance and exit of the Zillertaler Höhenstraße – one of Austria's most beautiful Alpine roads. Treat yourself to a day excursion, and only a few minutes from the hotel, you can start a magnificent ride in Kaltenbach up to an elevation of 2020 m and create lasting memories of the gorgeous panoramas of the Zillertal Alps!
If you want to actively experience grandiose nature in winter with skiing: in the middle of Kaltenbach, conveniently reachable with the ski bus from our hotel, you will find the valley station of the Hochzillertal ski center. It will take you into the Hochzillertal-Hochfügen ski area – where winter athletes will find the best conditions almost right outside our hotel door in the Hochfügen-Hochzillertal ski arena.
When it comes to culinary treats on the mountain, we recommend stopping for refreshments at the Wedelhütte and Kristallhütte: they have achieved cult status among mountain enthusiasts and connoisseurs! Do you like variety? Another smaller ski area near the Hochzillertal Kaltenbach ski region is the Spieljochbahn in Fügen, and right in Kaltenbach, night skiing is offered twice a week on floodlit slopes. If you prefer not to be on skis, you can marvel at the floodlit slopes from the year-round heated outdoor at our hotel in the Zillertal
Kaltenbach has attractive excursions to offer throughout the year. In the summer months, you can visit the Hubertuskapelle at the Neuhüttenalm, which is located near the Zillertaler Höhenstraße. A leisurely hike leads from Stumm to Kaltenbach and the Kaltenbach waterfall - or you can hike to the Harter Schleierwasserfall, which is the highest waterfall in the Zillertal with 91 meters.
